Dr. Pradeep Ganguly founded Manav Kalyan Kendra (MKK-USA a 501©3 organization) in 1998. For over 25 years, he has provided financial assistance and scholarships to needy students in the U.S. and India. In India, he provided scholarships to students at the University of Delhi. His current project includes financial support and scholarships to students of Raisina School in New Delhi.
Over the years, Dr. Ganguly also provided humanitarian aid and disaster relief in the U.S, India and The Philippines.
MKK-USA is mostly self-funded, with some external support from close friends and family. Funds are distributed directly to scholars with the assistance of volunteers (teachers and professors) in the U.S. and India, ensuring that they go to those in need without any administrative overhead. However, donations for disaster relief are often made through established international and local charities, such as the Red Cross, Prime Minister’s Earthquake relief fund, Philippine Friendship Association. Etc.
Dr. Ganguly currently serves as the Dean of Graduate Studies for the Continents States University – an on-line, affordable graduate studies program. He also advised businesses on site location in the U.S.
In his long career, Dr. Ganguly held leading economic development and director-level positions at Prince George’s County, Montgomery County and the State of Maryland. At Maryland commerce he served as its Chief Economist. He was conferred the Maryland “Hall of Fame” award for Economic Development.
Dr. Ganguly held numerous teaching positions at the University of Delhi, the University Maryland, College Park, University of Maryland Global Campus, the University of South Carolina – Aiken and Bowie state University.
Pradeep earned his Ph.D. degree in Applied Economics from Clemson University, the M.Phil. degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and an MA in Economics from Delhi School of Economics. AT DSE, he studied under Nobel Laureate Dr. Amartya Sen for two years. Dr. Ganguly also obtained Executive Education certificates from Harvard Kennedy School of Government (2005 and 2029), Leadership Montgomery and the Government Executive Institute.
In addition to founding MKK-USA, Pradeep co-founded nhanceSkill to provide workforce training. Over the years, Pradeep has served on the Boards of Bon Secours Baltimore Health System, Tech Council of Maryland, Marriott Conference Center, Bethesda Theater, REDI and the Rockville Arts Council.
