Dr. Timilsina is a Senior Economist in the Development Economics Vice Presidency of the World Bank, based in Washington, DC. He has nearly 30 years of experience spanning a broad range of development economics and policy areas, including energy, urban transportation, land, environment, and climate change. Before joining the World Bank, he served as Senior Research Director at the Canadian Energy Research Institute in Calgary, Canada. He has worked across all continents and in more than 50 countries worldwide.
A widely recognized expert in development economics, Dr. Timilsina has authored more than 200 publications, including articles in leading academic journals, books, book chapters, working papers, and technical reports. He has delivered hundreds of presentations at international conferences and seminars and has traveled to more than 80 countries in the course of his professional work. Although he has spent much of his career abroad, he remains deeply connected to development issues in Nepal and contributes actively whenever opportunities arise.
